ReMain Nantucket is an island-based philanthropic organization established by Wendy Schmidt, president of the Schmidt Family Foundation

We combine the creativity of a think tank with the energy of an advocacy organization and the resources needed to support the work of like-minded island non-profits.

Whether restoring historic buildings to improve their energy profile, promoting clean energy and carbon- reduction strategies, supporting incentives to “Buy Local” or sustaining local arts and culture, ReMain Nantucket is dedicated to recognizing and valuing what makes downtown Nantucket special.

ULI Update

A panel of experts from the Urban Land Institute has visited the island to identify possibilities and opportunities on Nantucket.

Community member interviews took place on October 14th at the Jared Coffin House. The ULI panel’s presentation of their preliminary conclusions took place on Friday October 17th at the Great Hall of the Atheneum.
