In effort to increase ridership, we collaborated with the Nantucket Regional Transit Authority to develop a branding campaign which included a public contest to rename the bus system.
The NRTA unveiled its new name and image "The Wave" in May 2011. Residents and visitors participated in a contest to help re-brand the system, and the winning entries were submitted by Ruth Anne Biggs, Bruce Miller and Pat Kleinert.
We enjoyed collaborating with NRTA on this project and are pleased that the new look made the system even more rider-friendly. ‘Ride The Wave’ became its new slogan and in 2011, The Wave saw a 9% increase in ridership that year. Since then its grown even more.
